yes PS GROOVE released Tuesday night anformed all over the world on twitter by Mathieulh. now back a few weeks ago there was a doungle called the psjailbreak. now this doungle was opened tested etc ripped cloned. and finnaly reverse engineered. and now released out into the scene for everyones enjoyment (at least for people that have some form of computer knowledge a bit of programing know how as well.) the PSgroove an open source homebrew enabling tool for the ps3. now for people wanting to use this thing for backups goooooooood luck it’s been ripped right out of the source code so if ya want to be a pirate or want to run backups code it in yourself. now for how this thing works exactly, it works just like the ps jailbreak does.

i’m just goin to simplify it for you. it mounts, loads, and unmounts a series of code and information from 6 virtual usbdrives on 1 chip. loading all the functions and processing the ps3 into debug mode and giving it full capabilities with package installs and disc backups (the psgroove doesn’t have the backup utility and never will)

As you may have noticed, FW 3.41 was somehow “empty”, only one feature was known: recommendations.

Sony’s Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida revealed in an interview to Develop-Online that despite four years have passed since PS3 has been released, it still had a “longer lifecycle” ahead of it than the 360 and the Wii.

When asked by industry magazine Develop why Sony hadn’t yet discussed the PS4 publicly, Yoshida said:

Naturally, in my opinion, Microsoft will make the first move. Or, because Nintendo’s approach was not to upgrade much on its basic hardware – Wii doesn’t even support HD resolution – so they might be the first to move.

Probably we should watch these companies, in my opinion. Because PS3 was later than Xbox, and is more powerful, so it has a longer lifespan.

However, according to CVG, Microsoft may disagree: Product director Aaron Greenberg told CVG earlier this year he expected the lifespan of ‘new platform’ Kinect to last five long years.

Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata said last month that it was “likely” the firm would launch a 3D home console in the future.
